About Us - The Kiesler's Story
Kiesler’s Campground & RV Resort isn’t just a place to camp—it’s a family legacy built on hard work, hospitality, and a love for the great outdoors. What started in 1972 as a small dream on a hobby farm has grown into one of Southern Minnesota’s top-rated campgrounds.
A Legacy of Family & Fun
In 1972, Kal and Barb Kiesler made the bold decision to transform their 39-acre farm into a campground. Kal, a rural mail carrier and farmer, spent countless nights sitting in his alfalfa field, reflecting on whether to take the risk. Eventually, he took the leap, and Kiesler’s Campground officially opened in 1972 with 100 campsites.
Over the years, Kiesler’s grew into a seasonal camping community, with many families returning year after year. By the mid-summer peak, the campground hosts over 1,300 campers! The campground expanded to 350+ sites, adding state-of-the-art amenities like a heated pool with waterslides, a recreation center, themed events, and endless activities for all ages.
In 1998, Steve and Belinda Kiesler officially took over the campground, carrying forward the family tradition of exceptional hospitality and fun-filled camping experiences. Their dedication to customer service, quality facilities, and exciting activities has kept Kiesler’s a beloved family destination for generations.
Now, as the next generation steps in, Mike and Kristi Corchran, along with their children, Jaxon and Jameson, are excited to continue the legacy of family fun and traditions that started over 50 years ago. With a deep appreciation for the campground’s history and a passion for creating unforgettable camping experiences, they look forward to many more years of welcoming campers to Kiesler’s.
